Join the CFVA for their Inaugural Film & Media Colorado Leadership Summit (2025 FAMCO Summit) which is designed to strengthen the future of Colorado’s film and media industry through leadership development, collaboration, and actionable solutions. The Film and Media Community Coalition of Colorado (FAMCO) is a grassroots movement that is meant to unify us as an industry.

This summit aims to gather key stakeholders, filmmakers, government officials, non-profit organization leaders, educators, producers, and business owners to identify shared challenges and shape the future of the industry.

Through structured dialogue and collaborative workshops, participants will generate actionable outcomes and select leaders to champion initiatives at the November Film & Media Town Hall, which will be open to all creatives and professionals within the industry.

In November of 2024, Shawna Schultz led a group of volunteers and about 250 members of the Film and Media Industry in a simultaneous, interactive discussion across four different cities. Watch this recap if you missed it:

The goal of this Film and Media Town Hall was to lift up the voices of the community with the end goal of unifying our voice as a state-wide industry, and now from that work, we want to bring together the leaders who can work together on the action items that will take us to the next phase of growth.

Program Agenda

Friday, October 3 | Jeffersonian Dinner (6:00pm – 9:00pm) 

Welcome and introductions, then facilitated Jeffersonian-style dinner with topic-guided discussion at each table. Goal: Build connection and surface key priorities across attendees 

Saturday, October 4 | Leadership Workshop (8:00am – 5:00pm) 

8:00am - Breakfast and networking

9:00am – Facilitated Group Discussion

10:00am – FAMCO Initiative Presentation by Shawna Schultz 

10:45am – Breakout Groups by Flywheel Pillars (8 groups)

12:00pm – Lunch (provided) 

1:00pm – Group Work: Finalize “One Thing” per pillar 

2:00pm – Presentations: Each group has 5 minutes + 10 minutes for Q&A 

4:00pm – BREAK 

4:30pm – Identify Pillar Leaders for Town Hall Presentation 

5:00pm – Adjourn and mocktail hour

Summary

This year’s Summit will be in the Community College of Aurora on October 3rd and 4th. There is a ticket fee of $180 for CFVA Members and $200 for non-members in order to attend the Summit to cover the cost of your meals and supplies.

The 2025 FAMCO Leadership Summit will bring these leadership voices together into one room, and help us unify our message and our goals, spread out the work and make sure that we have diverse perspectives as we continue this initiative of growing the Colorado Film and Media industry.

The results from the Summit will inform the second Town Hall, on November 15th which is taking place simultaneously in Denver, Grand Junction, Pueblo, Fort Collins, Longmont, Boulder, Durango, Colorado Springs, and Telluride.

The 2025 Town Hall aims to extend the work of the 2024 Town Hall, with over 300+ planned attendance, and create an inclusive space for dialogue, collaboration, and the development of actionable strategies informed by the Leadership Summit.
