INDUSTRY FAIR 2026 - PANEL - Making a Film in Colorado - "The Man Who Changed the World"

Go behind the scenes of The Man Who Changed the World and learn what it really takes to make a film in Colorado. In this practical, on-the-ground panel, Jenny Napier (Line Producer), Miranda Carnessale (Location Manager), and Carrie Gomez (Production Office Coordinator) share how the pieces come together—from budgets and logistics to locations, permits, and keeping production moving day by day. If you’ve ever wanted a real look at how a Colorado film gets made (and what these key crew roles actually do), this is the room to be in.

INDUSTRY FAIR 2026 PANEL - Filmmaking and the Cancer Journey

Filmmaking and the Cancer Journey brings together Keonia Williams, Kathryn Gould, and Mary Beth Eversole for an intimate conversation on creating work while navigating diagnosis, treatment, caregiving, and recovery. Moderated by Maya Jairam, this panel explores how storytelling can hold grief and humor, offer agency, and turn lived experience into art—without losing tenderness for the people at the center of it.

Thank you to the Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media for a generous grant that made these two workshops possible and free for the entire film community in Colorado.

Come for a one-of-a-kind workshop, leave with a group to help you grow! The first hour will be a class for beginning screenwriters to understand basic screenplay structure and get an intro to writing groups and writing rooms.In the next two hours we'll move to advanced topics, discussing what it takes to get in and stay in a writer's room, as well as how to work with a writing group and give and receive great feedback.In the final hour we'll divide into groups that move forward together and take your writing to the next level! In this workshop we will explore basic story structure, the difference between writing groups and writer's rooms, advice from other writers who have been in the room; how to get the job, keep the job and stay sane. She'll give you helpful guidelines on getting and receiving feedback and how to structure a productive writer's group.
